This past weekend my fraternity brother Chris Rogers’ organization TAP – Together Assisting People – held the Watch Your Mouth workshop on Saturday at Saraland High School.

At the workshop, former athletes and community leaders instructed and advised a group of local youngsters as the participants move through seven stations – Hand Shake, Eye Contact and Self-Introduction; Appearance; Fit for the Program; Personal Branding; Social Media; Tying a Tie and Interview on Camera. Phil Savage, the executive director of the Senior Bowl and the keynote speaker for the event, gave the participants three things they could do on the field to help them succeed – be in condition, know what to do and play hard. Off the field, he recommended the youngsters learn to get along with others, respect the authority in their present situation and rely on faith-based values.

I was over the Social Media breakout sessions, in which I talked with attendees about the pitfalls of Social Media. I went through several aspects of their Social Media and discussed:

-Posting Dos and Don’ts

-Changing Inapporiate Profile Names

-Deleting Inapproiate Content

-Changing Inapporiate Profile Pictures

I felt like I had a positive affect on all the guys that I spoke with and of the guys actually changed his instagram name based the recoomendations that I presented.
