As of right now, I have been working at the University System of Georgia for about 10 months and I have attended a few smaller conferences. This week I traveled to Augusta, GA to attend one of the system’s biggest annual conferences.

Conference Description

Georgia Summit is the University System of Georgia’s largest and most successful conference devoted to technology users and decision makers of administrative and academic software applications. This two-and-a-half-day educational conference fosters learning, interactions, and collaboration. Attendees share their experience, knowledge, and expertise as conference presenters and/or participants. Campus decision makers, end users and support staff of the USG’s enterprise applications and services from all of the 29 institutions in the system attend this conference each year.

My Experience

My main focus at this conference is to meet and interact with some the end-users of the major web applications that I support. Also, I was able to learn more about the system as a whole and get information about the future roadmap of the system. in addition, I got the opportunity to meet individuals who work at institutions around the state of Georgia. We were in a great location in downtown Augusta on Savannah River. I will take back more knowledge of system as a whole and look forward to our Rock Eagle conference next month.
